You can check the Kings County Metro website for an up-to-date schedule and route map. December and January are typically the coldest months with average highs in the mid-40s Fahrenheit and mostly rainy days. There are many activities in the city around the time of the winter holidays, especially New Years’ Eve, however. The summer months with the warmest weather and the least amount of rainy days, on average, are the busiest and most expensive months in which to travel to Seattle. If you are looking for the perfect blend of warm weather and fewer crowds, September is ideal. Traveling by car, whether a rental or taxi, is usually a nightmare in Seattle, especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.

Usually, this is because they are small group tours that allow a limited number of travelers on each tour. While you may not dine at one of Seattle’s busiest restaurants every day of your stay, you will want to at least experience a great seafood restaurant. Most of the best seafood restaurants in Seattle take reservations months in advance, and even further around holidays and peak travel times. Purchase First to Board for first access to board, visit the bar, and find a seat. The Port of Seattle has announced its  preliminary 2024 cruise season schedule, which features 277 sailings to Alaska from Seattle on seven different cruise lines.

Day tours offer a fun and affordable way to experience them with transportation usually provided, and oftentimes meals, snacks, and beverages provided as well. Cruise route is approximate and can change based on each sailing’s weather patterns, vessel traffic, and other non-predictable factors, and based on our experienced captains’ discretion. Seating on board our vessels is first-come, first-served and will begin 20 minutes prior to departure.

From the skyline to the shipping port, there’s views and history everyone will enjoy. We learned so much about our own city as we cruised away from the pier and south of Seattle towards where the cargo ships unload their containers. We even saw one of the giant cranes at work-this doesn’t happen all the time-it’s a working dock. And even after living in the city for nearly 20 years, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this part of the city from the water. We also circled back and got some phenomenal views of the city as well. This is a great tour to take if you like to take photos-I could barely stop taking pictures.

The weather was really nice and we like to walk so we walked up through Pike Place Market, through downtown and South Lake Union and back to our car. We arrived at the meeting spot for the Argosy Cruises Harbor tour about 30 minutes before our tour departed and then our boat ride was about 2 hours long. Because this tour is a one way tour, ours started at South Lake Union and ended at the Seattle Waterfront.

If you have any specific questions about the area, don’t hesitate to ask your guide as they’ll likely have a good answer or recommendation for you. If it’s your first day in Seattle and you’d like to see more of the area to get acquainted, this one is hard to beat. Lasting just 1 hour, it’s easy to fit into even the busiest of schedules. Are you searching for a tour that is compact yet packs in a lot of pristine views and relaxation?

Whether you are a visitor or a local, Seattle’s Waterfront is your gateway to the Salish Sea straight from downtown. The boat trips and tours from here range from 1-hour harbor cruises to overnight excursions in some of the world’s most beautiful waters. Want to smell the breath of a whale or taste the liquor (juice) of a live oyster? Take your pick of departure points anywhere between Pier 50 and Pier 70.
